The honest headline first: staff cannot sign in with their own account yet. What works today is employee records, attendance, shifts and a PIN lock for the counter device — plus an owner-only wall on the money screens, built and waiting for the logins that make it matter.
Owner
The account that created the business. Sees everything — including payment settings, revenue reports, and the operations agent.
Staff
Designed, built, and waiting for the sign-in that makes it real. A non-owner would be able to bill, take bookings and mark attendance while the money screens show an owner-only wall — but staff cannot sign in with their own account yet, so today nobody is in this row.
Owner-only money screens
Payment settings, revenue reports and the operations agent show an owner-only wall to any signed-in user who is not the business owner. Built and waiting: until staff sign-in ships there is no second account to wall off, so today this protects against a situation that cannot arise.
Attendance
Mark the team present or absent day by day. The month calendar tints each date by attendance rate so a bad week stands out, and every staff member can see their own record in the app.
Shifts
Define shifts with timings and working days, and set a default shift for the business. The roster lives in the app, not on a whiteboard.
App lock (PIN + fingerprint)
Lock the app with a PIN so a shared counter device doesn't expose the business to whoever picks it up. Unlock with a fingerprint on devices that support it.
Roadmap: full per-permission control
Today's split is owner vs. staff. Fine-grained roles — manager, cashier, stockist, with per-area permissions like the table below — are planned but not built yet. This is the design we're working towards, not a feature list.

Also not built yet
- Staff sign-in itself. There is no invite, no second account, and no way for an employee to open Lekhita as themselves. Everything in the roadmap table above depends on this landing first.
- Activity log and per-device session controls — planned alongside the permissions work, no committed date. Nothing in the app today records which person made a given bill.
- Pinning a staff member to a branch.
- Payroll. Lekhita tracks attendance today, but bank-file payroll export (NEFT / IMPS bulk transfer formats) is not built. Until then, run payroll in the tool you already use.
